4 Uses for Artificial Turf at Your House

Posted on

Artificial turf may be associated more with sports fields than with your home, but there are a lot of things that you can use artificial turf for at your house.

1. Dog Runs

If you have dogs, you need to have somewhere for them to be outside, especially if they are active dogs who need to have some kind of outside time. The problem with regular grass is that when it gets wet, it also gets muddy and messy. Then you end up with ruts in your yard and messy puppies to bring into your house. Artificial turf avoids that problem. It's also really super easy to clean up; when you want to clean it, all you need to do is get your hose and spray it down, which gets rid of everything.

2. Add Turf to Balconies

If you live in an apartment without any yard and you want to have some green space, artificial turf can help to give you that. You can cut down the turf to fit your balcony and then place it there. It will feel nice on your feet, you can put tables and chairs on it, and you get to have the look of the outside without having to go find some grass somewhere.

3. Add to Basement Flooring

If you have a basement that you use as a playroom or storage or something similar,  you might want to consider using artificial turf instead of carpeting because turf can wear better than carpet. If you have problems with flooding in your basement, artificial turf can be a really good choice because whatever water gets into your basement isn't going to ruin the turf. It will be easy to clean, and you can easily pull it up, take it outside to clean and sanitize as necessary, then lay it back down on the basement floor when you have it all cleaned up.

4. Lawns

If you want to have a nice, green lawn, but you live in a drought-prone area, or you just don't have the time to maintain a lawn, artificial turf can be a good option. You can get the look that you want to have without having to worry about maintenance.

Artificial turf has come a long way since it first came out, and it can be used at your house for a lot of reasons. Contact artificial turf suppliers to learn more.
